Becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah
Becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a tremendous milestone in a Jewish child's life. Celebrating a Bar/Bat Mitzvah is a joyous occasion for the whole community. Working closely with our Hebrew School staff, a personal tutor and our Rabbi Alex Matthews, we work to ensure that our children are both excited and well prepared for this rite of passage into Jewish adulthood. Congregation Ahavas Achim is an inclusive non-denominational synagogue serving Newburyport along with surrounding communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We host weekly services on Shabbat mornings, and monthly Friday night services, with a vibrant Hebrew School. Our community celebrates all Jewish Holidays and offers a wide variety of activities for adults, teens, and children. We welcome the participation of interfaith couples/families, people of all abilities, and sexual orientations.
