CAA Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know how to read Hebrew to attend a service?
Nope! The prayer book we use is “Siddur Eit Ratzon” a nondenominational prayer book with Hebrew, English,
transliteration, translations, comments, alternatives and perspectives. Therefore you do not need to read Hebrew to attend or follow along.
Do I need to have in-depth Jewish knowledge to attend CAA?
We are a non-judgmental community and welcome those who are interested and curious. Ask questions, and/or
observe and learn as you go along. If you're joining us for the first time we'd be happy to match you up with buddy to help guide you through services at CAA.
What if my partner/spouse isn’t Jewish; are they welcome at CAA?
Yes, all are welcome! Our congregation is quite diverse and welcomes interfaith couples and families, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Can I try attending a service or event without expectations of further involvement?
Yes, give us a try! The membership committee would love to help you learn more and/or provide information to help you with direction if you’d like.
How do I connect with someone if I’d like to get started or if I have questions?
You may contact membership@caa-newburyport.org and a member of our Membership Committee will be in touch to answer any questions or provide more information about CAA.
